WEST FLORIDA PHRF
BOAT OF THE YEAR
“Regatta Agreement”
As established in Appendix H, of the WFPHRF Class Rules:
“In order to encourage participation in Performance Handicap Racing, WFPHRF sponsors several “Boat of the Year” series. The Race Organizers of these events are solely responsible for the management of the individual events”.
In order to maintain a minimum level of consistency among the events used in scoring for a WFPHRF Boat of the Year Series, WFPHRF asks the Race Organizers to include the WFPHRF Class Rules as part of the rules that govern the event in their “Notice of Race”, with an exception for any non-PHRF fleets participating in the event.
Additionally, WFPHRF recommends the following in an effort to make WFPHRF Boat of the Year events as successful and enjoyable as possible:
Please include in your Notice of Race all WFPHRF boat categories in the WFPHRF sponsored Charlotte Harbor, Southwest Florida, Sarasota Bay and Suncoast Boat of the Year Series.
Please provide a draft of your Notice of Race and entry form (preferably prior to publication) to the WFPHRF Board of Directors for review. WFPHRF promises to respond with any questions within 5 working days of receipt of the draft. WFPHRF, in an attempt to provide our fleets with easily accessible regatta information will publish a link of the NOR and entry on the www.westfloridaphrf.org web site for the respective venue.
If possible, have a US Sailing Certified Race Officer as the Principal Race Officer or supervisor of your PRO(s). If you need assistance in finding a US Sailing Principal Race Officer, WFPHRF will help you find one.
Name(s) of PRO(s): _________________________________________________

If possible, have at least one US Sailing Certified Judge as part of your Protest Committee. Again, WFPHRF will be happy to assist you in finding a US Sailing Certified Judge.
Name(s) of Judge(s):__________________________________________________

Please submit detailed scores of all event races using Time-On-Distance calculations for all monohull classes and Time-On-Time for all multihull classes. If other than Time-On-Distance is used to score monohulls or Time-On-Time is used to score multihulls in your event at the local level, WFPHRF asks that you submit raw data (distance of each race and finish time for each yacht) to the WFPHRF Board of Directors for inclusion in Boat of the Year Series scoring by 2100 hours on the Wednesday following your event. WFPHRF will post the scores on its web site, www.westfloridaphrf.org . The results will be posted as preliminary if there are any protests pending and the date of the protest hearing will be noted on the Boat of the Year Series Scoring section of the WFPHRF web site.
The Organizer agrees to abide as closely as possible to these recommendations for their event to be scored in a WFPHRF Sponsored Charlotte Harbor, Sarasota Bay, Southwest Florida or Suncoast PHRF Boat of the Year Series.
