He has also raced in numerous Kahlua Cups, St. Pete to Isla Mujeres, St. Pete to Havana, Clearwater to Key West and Bone Island Regattas. He is past Commodore and Fleet Captain Sail of the Bradenton Yacht Club and a past President of WFPHRF. Clay was introduced to racing through Davis Island Yacht Club\u2019s Thursday Night racing program and has sailed continuously on the same boat since then. Once he found a full time job, he joined DIYC. Booth joined the WFPHRF Ratings Committee in 2003 and became a Board Member in 2004. Frank Jr, raced with him until about 2005, when he purchased Junior, a J27, and has continued racing in the Tampa Bay area. A passion for boating ensued to be followed by one for airplanes. An invitation to go sailing with a co-worker led to racing sailboats and combined the passion for both. He has raced primarily as crew in many races, including St. Pete to Isla Mujeres, and to Havana, Ft Lauderdale to Key West, and Block Island Race Week. As a solo racer, he won non-spinnaker in the CMCS Summerset Regatta. He has crewed on non-stop deliveries from Annapolis to Naples and from Naples to Newport. He has cruised the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, Cuba, and the Maine coast. His parents actively sailed from the time he was born until they both passed away. His sailing experience growing up was geared to boat handling, navigation, and cruising the West Coast of Florida, the Keys, and Bahamas. For the last 25 years Mike has owned a variety of racing boats, ranging from a Star to his current Farr 40. Mike lives in Ft. Yard Goat regularly competes in the DIYC BOTY Series and Suncoast BOTY Series. Jamie, along with Mike Kayusa and Brent Bacon, are the organizers of the annual Tampa Bay to Ft. Myers Race on Memorial Day Weekend. His boating began at very young\u00a0age involving both sail and power boats. In order to boat year round, he moved to\u00a0Pinellas County, Florida in 1964, and began doing race committee work in the early\u00a01970\u2019s with his wife, Beth. Their training for this was mentored by some of\u00a0the best, such as Pat and Gwyneth Talbot. He has been on numerous boards, committees\u00a0and Commodore of the Treasure Island Yacht Club. He and his wife have helped several\u00a0yacht clubs and associations with regattas.
