A native of Bradenton, Bob has raced his various race boats for more than 40 years out of the Bradenton Yacht Club in both Suncoast and SBYA series. He has also raced in numerous Kahlua Cups, St. Pete to Isla Mujeres, St. Pete to Havana, Clearwater to Key West and Bone Island Regattas. He is past Commodore and Fleet Captain Sail of the Bradenton Yacht Club and a past President of WFPHRF. He currently races and cruises a Catalina 380.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Manny is a life-long sailor and racer. \u00a0His experience ranges from dinghies to yachts.\u00a0 He holds a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute and has an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certificate. \u00a0His offshore sailing on his Swan 38 includes to Bermuda and Canada as well as Caribbean deliveries.\u00a0 He is an active racer in the Venice area and in regional SBYA regattas.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Clay grew up on the west coast of Florida and began sailing at 12.\u00a0 He soon after bought his first boat, a Jopie Helsen design with a rating 300+. Clay was introduced to racing through Davis Island Yacht Club\u2019s Thursday Night racing program and has sailed continuously on the same boat since then. Once he found a full time job, he joined DIYC. As a past Fleet Captain, Clay is very familiar with the Suncoast’s racing fleet.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Dick Booth has been sailing since the late ’60’s in New England, but he seriously grabbed the sport in 1980 after moving to Little Rock, AR, where there is year round sailing and racing.\u00a0\u00a0 He competed in spinnaker class PHRF in Little Rock from 1990 to 2000 on his Cal 24, and was a club officer and board member for several years.\u00a0 When he moved to Florida in 2000, he naturally jumped into the WFPHRF regatta circuit on his Tartan 4100, Addiction<\/em>. Booth joined the WFPHRF Ratings Committee in 2003 and became a Board Member in 2004. When not in racing season, he cruises with his wife Linn while missing two Cockapoos, Cricket and Maggie.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

A native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Frank has been sailing since he was 4 years old, with his Dad in MORC, FORA and WFPHRF.\u00a0 Frank Sr was a member at TSS and raced an Irwin 24, Irwin 25 and finally a J30 up into his 80\u2019s. Frank Jr, raced with him until about 2005, when he purchased Junior, a J27, and has continued racing in the Tampa Bay area. He was a Fleet Captain and is presently Vice Commodore at Davis Island Yacht Club and has been a member there since the 1970\u2019s<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Growing up near the large reservoir lakes in Alabama and Georgia left plenty of room for skiing and fishing. A passion for boating ensued to be followed by one for airplanes. An invitation to go sailing with a co-worker led to racing sailboats and combined the passion for both. Jim is a member of Davis Island Yacht Club where he has served as Fleet Captain and Commodore.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Jim is a Fort Myers native and has been sailing since the mid \u201860\u2019s in\u00a0 over sixty different boat designs so far and hoping to reach at least one hundred. He has raced primarily as crew in many races, including St. Pete to Isla Mujeres, and to Havana, Ft Lauderdale to Key West, and Block Island Race Week. As a solo racer, he won non-spinnaker in the CMCS Summerset Regatta. He has crewed on non-stop deliveries from Annapolis to Naples and from Naples to Newport. He has cruised the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, Cuba, and the Maine coast. He still owns the Cal 2-27 as well as an Alerion Express 19 catboat.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Mike has been sailing all his life. His parents actively sailed from the time he was born until they both passed away. His sailing experience growing up was geared to boat handling, navigation, and cruising the West Coast of Florida, the Keys, and Bahamas. For the last 25 years Mike has owned a variety of racing boats, ranging from a Star to his current Farr 40. Mike lives in Ft. Myers and is a member of Davis Island Yacht Club.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Jamie Myers races his Soverel 33, Yard Goat, out of Davis Island Yacht Club where he is a former Commodore and Fleet Captain, among other leadership roles. Yard Goat regularly competes in the DIYC BOTY Series and Suncoast BOTY Series. Jamie, along with Mike Kayusa and Brent Bacon, are the organizers of the annual Tampa Bay to Ft. Myers Race on Memorial Day Weekend. He looks forward to his return to the WFPHRF Board.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Tom grew up in Minnesota and began boating at 16 by refurbishing and sailing a Snipe then a \u00a0C-Scow and racing an O\u2019Day 23.\u00a0\u00a0In the fall of 2003, Tom began sailing life in SW FL with his Tartan 33 EROICA as well as holding various flag positions at local yacht clubs.<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

Charles Mixson grew up in north Florida and has truly been sailing all his life, starting with lake sailing and racing with his father.\u00a0 He moved to the west coast of Florida in the 1980\u2019s where he crewed and raced on a Pearson 31.\u00a0 He acquired a Pearson 35 in the mid-\u201890s which he restored, cruised and raced. Charles assisted in the delivery of a Swan 47 from New England to Florida and back via the Bahamas and Bermuda.\u00a0 He has crewed on two Ensign 22 National regattas in New England.\u00a0 Charles currently cruises and races a Nightwind 35 and is a member of the Sarasota Sailing Squadron.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n

George was raised in the Atlantic City NJ area. His boating began at very young\u00a0age involving both sail and power boats. In order to boat year round, he moved to\u00a0Pinellas County, Florida in 1964, and began doing race committee work in the early\u00a01970\u2019s with his wife, Beth. Their training for this was mentored by some of\u00a0the best, such as Pat and Gwyneth Talbot. He has been on numerous boards, committees\u00a0and Commodore of the Treasure Island Yacht Club. He and his wife have helped several\u00a0yacht clubs and associations with regattas. Now is a member of the St. Petersburg\u00a0Yacht Club and is past Regatta General, on the Board of Directors for five years\u00a0and is now Ocean Racing Chairman.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n
